The Great Commission

Friends, I am sooooo excited to tell you about this project going on now... almost too excited for words!!!

See what I mean? I had to post the pic before I could find the words...
Well, this pic was taken by my Uncle Scott, who is so good at taking pics with his kewl camera.
He captured this at the right moment!

Now this is the part I'm SUPER excited about.
My basset hound pal, Mr. Hank, has a wonderful Ma who is extremely talented.
She is making a drawing of that pic of me.

Here she is starting the drawing.
We loved looking at that right eye, especially, looks like I'm really seeing something out of it!

Here's the most recent update to the drawing.
We got shivers looking at it!!!

We are sooouper excited about this commission drawing of me. Methinks Mr. Hank's Ma is sooooo talented. We can't wait to see the finished project, but also love getting to watch the work in process too. My person likes watching it 'cause she gots no fine arts skills whatsoever (those went to the other members of the family!). So she finds this all amayzing...!

Mehas to tell you about my buddy Mr. Hank. He is one very kewl basset hound. As a puppy, he had these cute bulgy eyes. But it was sad because a couple months after getting him, he developed severe glaucoma, and is now blind : ( No more eyes.

...But no matter, Mr. Hank has picked himself up, uses his sniffer everywhere, and except for bumping into things occasionally, otherwise lives a normal basset life. His Ma and family love him very, very much, and stand by him no matter what he goes through. They are committed to giving him a very good life, esp because of everything he's been through. We think that is wonderful and tip our hats off to them...!

Mr. Hank has a blog too: http://bassethoundhank.blogspot.com/. He's named after Hank Williams, the singer (that's why the pics of the singer). It's kewl to check out, because his Ma has posted other artwork she has done of Hank. So fun to look at! And it's got cute pics of Mr. Hank.

Hope ya enjoy these pics, everyone!

Spoiled!

I gotta confess.
I might be a spoiled dog.
The reason I think that is because I got more toys than I can play with. That happened because of my generous dog friends and their peeples who gave me lotsa gifts at my Birfday Partee.

Do ya see what I mean???

Those shelves were empty before my partee. They are still full now, and every week or two, I'm allowed to pick one toy or treat. I go in there and usually something appeals to me, so I pull it out and get to either play with it or eat it or both : )

OK, my long overdue Birfday Partee report would not be complete without an inventory of some of my fav presents. It was fun to open them, well, more like tearing the wrapping paper to shreds.

Auntie Hiroko, Roxy's Mom, MADE me a necklace made out of doggie treats.
wow, what skillz! here I am wearing it.
My Auntie Anne made this gift wrap made of doggies.

Me liked opening it and shredding the paper.
It was an alligator puppet chew toy!

This is the hugest bone cookie I ever seen. Also from Auntie Anne.
Here I am with Auntie M.

Me gots not one, but two, musical birfday cakes!
Here I am eating the candles & making it sing... yum yum.
Next to me is a camouflage backpack filled with lotsa  things like wipes & poop bags from my Auntie Melinda--
it was very thoughtfully put together.

My pal Juliet made a card for me with a bone on it.
The paper is apparently made of elephant poop, I'm told later.
No wonder me likes to sniff it so much.

Opening presents is a pretty fun endeavor.

Presents from basset hound families were right on the mark: they knew exactly what I liked and introduced me to things that I love. Like this gigantic knuckle bone. Never had one before & me wouldathought it was too big.  Nope, I loved it & it kept me busy for hours.

This was creative.
My pal Tara wrapped a bag of treats in this camouflage handkerchief.

Sporting my new cami handkerchief.
It goes along with my other cami stuff, like my Doggles.

This was the weirdest present I got, from L'il Guy.
First, it's a chicken w/no arms.
Second, it's wearing a wifebeater shirt & shorts with flames on them.
That being said, it's fun to squeak & play with!

This was one of the coolest presents I got from Ali, my bulldog friend.
It's an educational wooden toy.
My person puts treats in it, and I have to move the wooden pieces to uncover them in order to eat them.
Sometimes I get impatient & try to bite the pieces away. Never works though.

Fun collection of presents from Kayley, my golden retriever friend.
I got a book called "A Dog's Purpose," which was a nice book for my person. It helps her understand me better.
That's why I like it.

Somehow, I got really tired opening da presents.
Had to take a nap on the couch.
And that's the end of my report.
G'night, friends!!

Birfday Partee-- Parts II & III

Hi Everyone,

Oh boy-- no post in a loooong time. Sorry 'bout that. We been busy w/summer vacations & camping (which I'll be telling u ALL about in the near future). Because I am sooo behind, I'm gonna be posting 2x/week, methinks, so look out for lotsa new posts this coming month. There's just so much to talk about!

OK, one reason it has taken awhile is because I keep lookin' & lookin' for my list of winners from the contests at my birfday partee, but me can't find it : ( I wanted to post the list. but that's ok. I have the pics of some of the winners.

So, we went on to have Birfday Partee-- Parts II & III-- on different nights, because we had so many games to play! Part II-- we finished all the games, & also the rest of my birfday cake. Part III was practice for the Obstacle Course contest. And... Part IV??? Well, Part IV is still to come! Can you believe it? But yeah, in the next month or so, we'll have another night of timing everyone on the obstacle course. Everyone got 1 practice night, now it will be time for the real thing!!!

Here are some pics from Parts II & III:

The other team got them back by winning the Running Relay Race! Congrats!!

Uncle Todd & Fred.

Me with Maggie & her family. Maggie was a big winner at the partee! She won the Grand Prize, for winning the Scavenger Hunt. She also won or placed in the Running & Retrieving categories.
